As an engineer at ShirlynPay, your responsibilities will include:

Responsibility:

• Collaborating with a team of engineers to design, develop, test, and deploy highly scalable and configurable products on web and mobile platforms. These products should work seamlessly across browsers and platforms.
• Working closely with product and design teams to understand business requirements, propose new ideas, and explore opportunities. Your input will be valued, and you will have the chance to participate in design meetings, contribute ideas, and refine features and functionality.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver end-to-end solutions that provide high availability and configurability, ultimately delivering tangible business value.
• Effectively communicating technical standards, principles, methodologies, and trends to stakeholders.
• Ensuring end-to-end quality of deliverables throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle, including secure development, localization, and internationalization.
• Writing reusable code that can be shared across teams.
• Developing and communicating technical processes, standards, and best practices to the team.
• Demonstrating a willingness and ability to learn new technologies and programming languages as needed.
• Working on test automation, including TDD (Test-Driven Development), unit/integration/functional testing, and accessibility testing.
• Maintaining and enhancing existing architectural documentation and creating new documentation as required.
• Mentoring and coaching less experienced engineers.

Qualification:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in software development.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering enterprise-class JavaScript web applications and services, with a focus on Node.js and React.js in the past 2 years.
• Professional experience in programming modern web applications using JavaScript, NodeJS (ExpressJS), CSS, and HTML.
• Proficiency in front-end skills, particularly React JS.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and concepts, with the ability to analyze requirements and translate them into scalable software designs.
• Self-motivation, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and strong communication skills for collaborating with business partners and the technology team.
• Effective articulation of technical challenges and solutions.
• Sound understanding of concepts such as Web Services, SOA, REST APIs, Message Queues, and Distributed/Scalable Architecture. Experience in designing and building web services/microservices in an enterprise setting.
• Familiarity with SQL and other NoSQL/modern database and storage technologies. Desired understanding of Oracle, JDBC, and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate).
• Competence in software engineering tools (e.g., Java build tools) and best practices (e.g., unit testing, test automation, continuous integration, etc.).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience communicating with technical teams, product teams, and senior management to gather requirements, describe product features, explain technical designs, and discuss engineering strategies.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work well in a team, take responsibility, and prioritize delivery.
• Demonstrated curiosity, passion for technology, pride of ownership, and commitment to excellence.
