Graphic Designer, Apparel Full Time

Summary

Shirlyn Media Production is actively seeking a dynamic and proactive Graphic Designer with a keen eye for detail and a robust design sensibility to join our corporate office in Palo Alto.

As a Graphic Designer at Shirlyn Media Production, your primary responsibility will be to craft original graphics and translate intellectual property (IP) into various products, including apparel, accessories, and other exciting categories. Collaborating closely with our design team, you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing our seasonal and specialty collections to life.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and design graphic prints, patterns, text, logos, and imagery as needed.
• Adapt and recolor existing prints, sketches, illustrations, photographs, graphics, and patterns to meet design requirements.
• Stay attuned to industry trends and market designs for inspiration, including color palettes, styles, artistry, and patterns.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify emerging design trends, fabrics, materials, innovative decorative techniques, and potential new product categories.
• Prepare technical packages, art files, and renders for our vendor partners.
• Exhibit strong project management skills, efficiently handling multiple projects and deadlines.
• Uphold design and brand standards, adhering to file naming conventions consistently.
• Stay updated on the latest industry standards and design trends, leveraging this knowledge to develop creative and innovative graphic assets.
• Maintain open communication with the Design and Product Development teams to assist in problem-solving as needed.

Requirements

• Possess at least 5 years of in-house brand, agency, or startup design experience.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to upholding design and brand standards.
• Showcase an impressive portfolio of personal design work, highlighting creativity and a wide range of design skills.
• Previous experience collaborating with leading brands, coupled with a deep understanding of adhering to brand guidelines.
• Exhibit motivational leadership skills to inspire and guide the design team.
• Thrive in a unique, high-pressure work environment, managing multiple job responsibilities effectively.
• Possess a motivated attitude characterized by a “Everything is possible” mindset.
• Display exceptional visual design skills, including expertise in typography, composition, illustration, branding, and layout.
• Stay updated with current trends, culture, and design within the fashion and apparel industry.
• Possess knowledge of the apparel retail industry, marketing principles, and the product development process.
• Experience with mood boards, drawing, sketching, ideation, detailed product creation, and visual presentation development.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and more.
